I love Dance, Music & Maths.
Born in Korea. Raised in Belgium.
Home in Antwerp & Amsterdam.
Soo Mee has always had a passion for music, ever since she started playing the violin as a little child. It wasn’t until later she got inspired by dance and theatre and so she started taking dance classes several times a week. Soo Mee’s love for dance grew stronger and she decided to continue her training professionally at the Amsterdam University of the Arts - from which she successfully graduated last year. Over the last few years she got commited to different theater companies, both on stage and behind the scenes. Since 2011, Soo Mee is a regular dancer for the "Vlaams Muziek Theater" and she is an active member of De Speling, a musical theatre company where she's responsible for choreography for musicals such as "SHOUT! – The Mod Musical”, “Sisters of Swing – The Story of the Andrew Sisters” and "My Fair Lady".
Apart from this, Soo Mee is an engaged dance teacher. She teaches ballet, contemporary and musical classes on a regular basis. She also choreographes her own work for her own small company SooMotion, inspired by companies such as Rosas, WArd/waRD, Peeping Tom, etc. And of course, as a dancer, she trains almost daily, taking classes at the Koninklijke Belgische Balletschool Josee Nicola, Dansstudio Arabesque, a.o. and she started training circus techniques and acrobatics at Ell Circo d'Ell Fuego. Whenever possible, she participates (international) workshops throughout the year to keep her mind and body stimulated and up to date.
